We're delighted to announce our partnership with Rise Above Period Poverty in Kenya
On Menstrual Hygiene Day 2023 we are thrilled to announce our partnership with Rise Above Period Poverty, a social enterprise committed to improving menstrual hygiene management for young women in Kenya.
The aim of our campaign is to provide menstrual hygiene education, empowerment, and access to menstrual hygiene products for young women between the ages of 8 and 18 in schools across Kisumu County. We both believe that every young woman deserves access to menstrual hygiene resources and education, regardless of where she lives in the world.
Unfortunately, many young women in Kisumu County face the challenge of period poverty, which refers to the lack of access to menstrual hygiene resources, education, and support. This can lead to young women missing school, dropping out of school, or even engaging in risky behaviours such as transactional sex in order to obtain menstrual hygiene products.
We have seen how the incredible work that campaign manager Dalpheen Moraa and her team can change lives and we are so excited to be a part of this going forward. If you want to join us, you can be a part of this too! Any donations will go directly towards providing menstrual hygiene education, resources and support for young women, helping them stay in school, lead healthy lives, and achieve their full potential.
